What’s the first thing we should fix on our website?

(TLDR): Start with speed, performance, and technical health.

We typically begin with a full audit to prioritise the highest-impact improvements.

Can you redesign our existing website?

(TLDR): Yes — though rebuilds are sometimes better.

We can redesign your existing website; however, depending on the platform and structure, a full rebuild may be more efficient. Older themes, plugins, or restrictive builders can limit performance and scalability. In many cases, rebuilding ensures stronger SEO foundations, improved speed, and better long-term flexibility.

When should a business redesign its website?

(TLDR): When performance, branding, or usability declines.

If your website feels outdated, loads slowly, isn’t mobile-friendly, or no longer reflects your positioning, it may be time for a redesign. Businesses typically refresh websites every 3–5 years to maintain competitiveness. Do you handle hosting and maintenance?

What platform do you use to create websites?

(TLDR): Primarily WordPress, plus Shopify and others.

We primarily build on WordPress due to its flexibility and scalability. We also work with Shopify for eCommerce, and occasionally Wix or Weebly depending on client needs. Platform choice depends on functionality, budget, growth plans, and long-term control requirements.

What’s the difference between a template site and custom build?

(TLDR): Templates limit flexibility; custom builds allow for scale.

Template sites use pre-designed layouts with limited structural flexibility. Custom builds are designed specifically around your brand, user journey, and conversion goals. We don’t rely on generic templates. Some bespoke websites also require custom-coded functionality for advanced features or integrations — which we can develop. Custom builds provide stronger performance, scalability, and uniqueness compared to off-the-shelf solutions.

Does web design include copywriting services?

(TLDR): Yes

We include basic copywriting if a client has not included or, or sourced it elsewhere. We can provide professional website copywriting alongside design for an additional cost. Strong messaging improves clarity and conversions. Integrating design & copy, from the beginning creates stronger alignment and avoids costly retrofitting later.

What is the difference between web design and web development?

(TLDR): Design is visual; development builds functionality.

Web design focuses on layout, branding, user experience, and visual presentation. Web development handles the technical build — coding, integrations, performance, and backend systems. While the terms are often used interchangeably, both disciplines work together to create a site that looks professional and functions reliably. For highly technical, or custom solutions, we have an external programmer/coder available to complete the task.

Do you provide ongoing support after the site launches?

Will I be able to update the website myself (CMS)?

(TLDR): Yes — with guidance on simple vs risky edits.

Most of our websites are built on WordPress, allowing you to update content, images, blogs, and basic layout elements. We can provide documentation for common changes. However, altering advanced settings or code can unintentionally break functionality, which may require fixes at cost to you. We recommend a clear difference between safe content updates and technical backend adjustments.

How often should I receive reports, and what should actually be in them?

(TLDR): Monthly reporting with meaningful conversion metrics.

We can automate performance reports to be emailed regularly, showing new visitors, traffic sources, keyword visibility, and contact form enquiries. For eCommerce, we track sales and conversion rates. Meaningful KPIs focus on enquiries, revenue, and engagement — not vanity metrics alone.
